Hey Guys, I'm finishing my frame off resto of my 1984 H/O. I replaced the body cushings with oem types from kirban, but the car seems to be an 1 to 2 inches high in the front. The springs are in correct position in the cup. I measured it against my brothers 83 H/O and as I suspected it sits higher than his. It even looks high to me. I am using the original springs, the only thing I replaced was the upper control arms with a replacement for Rock Auto. I loosend up all the control arm bushings with full wieght on them as well. Any suggestions out there?

Thanks,
Paul

i put in a set of belltech 2" drop springs for a s10 with my olds 350 in it gave it a inch and a half drop has the rake your probably looking for and the ride is still nice

These cars sat high from the factory. Way too high. Stupidly 'it looks like *ss' high. Install some Eibach lowering springs and the car will sit MUCH better and drivability will not suffer in the least.

I like the factory height but if you see a difference between yours and the 83" something is whack. I had S10 springs in mine and it lowered the car about 1". I didn't like the look and put the factory springs back in. You could go that route to correct it if you're willing to put up with a higher spring rate.

I'd leave it for a few weeks and let the springs settle

I totally agree. I've had the same F41 (MOOG #5606) springs in my wagon. The car definitely sat higher than normal, until it settled in.
If not, go with the MOOG #5660 up front. The new body bushings most likely took some of the sag out of the body as well.
These cars did sit a bit high when new.

The body bushings on your brother's 83 Hurst are most likely also worn.
The front springs take a bit to set in, drive it around and take a few corners hard and have some fat chicks sit on the hood for an hour that might speed things up...

I've still got the stock V6 springs in mine. When I first put the motor in, it sat high for about a week, even though the old springs were well-used. They finally settled and dropped about an inch.

Use moog 5660 like was mentioned. Not only does the handling improve the car will sit where it needs to so it looks nice.

2nd pic is with 5606, 1st with 5660. Which is an s-10 v6 spring. And after the springs settled a bit, pic3
