Front suspension recommendations g

Don't care for the ride height or stiffness. I'm at a 450lb spring and even my 16" wheels rub. The ride on the freeway is good, on the street it feels like a low rider. I figure if I go a heavier spring I'll get my ride height back but even stuffer suspension. Uppers and lowers are from gbody parts, poly bushings.

Don't mean to hijack the thread!!

I had looked at the QA1 coil overs, but ultimately went with the 5658 springs with the 1/2" tall lower balljoints and 235/60/15 tires, I'm at 6 7/8" frame height. Are the QA1's single or double adjustable? I figured that might help with the ride quality some. I've got the QA1 single adjustable shocks, and it seems that depending on where they are set, the ride quality will suffer.

Single adjustable. I do have them turned up to keep from bottoming out on bumps. No matter where I adjust the height, I don't gain more than 1/4" of adjustability. I'm at a crossroads of going back to springs and shocks or stiffer spring on the coil over's. I want to put my 3 piece wheels on but I'm waaayyyyyy too low up front.

I've got 1 more jackstand to clear and I'll have the frame out. This Grand Prix is a '78. Its an LJ model. It has a 1.25" front sway bar, a 2.5 lock-to-lock steering box, and now that I've got the frame down, to my surprise, I see GN frame bushings. Were these even offered in '78 or has someone added this stuff? I have absolutely zero chassis braces on the entire car. The car is basically unmolested. Original interior, paint, 14" hub caps, etc.

Do you mean GNX frame bushings above rear wheel frame area? I wouldn't know if a 78 came with them but the possibility is here. After all, there obviously is a place from them to go. I don't know why they wouldn't have just installed them on everything?

You're right, I meant the GNX frame bushings. I was under the impression that they weren't installed on all cars, is this not the case?

I've got the frame all the way out, wheels back on so I can move it around. Looks solid, I'm happily surprised considering its a Pacific Northwest car. Frame bushing locations are all good as well.

You are correct, they weren't installed on all cars, only the GNX that I'm aware of. Good idea to put them in while you're there though, good thinking. post some pics!
