I filled up yesterday, went about 100-150 miles, and I'm less than 1/4 tank!

Sbc 350, edelbrock performer carb, electric fuel pump.
Smell gas under hood, no leak though under hood or anywhere with the gas lines. Seems over flooded on starts; hard to start like its flooded and, like I said, gas smell.

Do I need a fuel pressure regulator? What gives??

I don't have the electronic choke hooked up.... Maybe that's it?

Possibly a bad float or dirt/junk/worn needle and seat. What color is the exhaust, black, blue, white?
Sounds like the carb may need to be rebuilt or at least adjusted properly.

did you just pu this carb on ? what size is the carb 600 or 750. you shouldnt need a regulator if running a stock pump, but if you changed to a high flow or electric you might. i would check your float andhookup the choke. also check your plugs to see if they are fouled. make sure the motor is in a good state of tune plugs, wires, cap and rotor ,coil etc.

It's a brand new rebuilt performance sbc 350 with 355 hp. Brand new edelbrock performer carb 1406 600cfm. Engine/carb were broken in and dynoed together before delivery to me. Sounds like I may need to hook up choke?
Only thing not brand new under the hood is the alternator. Just got her drivable this weekend after a transmission rebuild.

yeah hook up the choke and see where you are at. its probly something stupid that will drive you nuts.how does it run? is it sluggish or hesitate ? you might have to change metering rods and jets. i had a performer that was calibrated for performance and had to lean it out.

It runs great! Not sluggish at all. I kinda feel it revs high but I cannot get my tach to work again after the engine swap.

What electric pump are you running? Edelbrock only recommends 5.5psi max.

It's one I got from the engine builder, just a cheap brand, standard pump from what I can remember.

The first thing i'd do is find out what pressure it runs.
