Sounds good, I'm sure you can adapt that f-body pump in there. One thing to consider inside your tank is baffling, since most g-bodies have carbs there's little baffling to keep the fuel from sloshing around, since the float bowl acts as a buffer for any air that might get pumped up there. I don't know how hard you're planning to hit the corners though, so uncovering the fuel pump inlet might not be an issue. Or just keep your tank filled up.
Here's another thread with some pics and stuff of that corvette FPR/filter, just for reference.

So this is a 2006 motor? Hrm, i think that might make it a Gen IV motor, maybe an LY6? I haven't looked into Gen IV applications much at all.
I believe the Gen III's technically ended in 2004-5.
Since that trans is a 4x4 model, I guess the only thing you could do with it is yank it all apart and buy the parts for a 2wd and an extension housing. Maybe do a shift kit and some upgraded hard parts at the same time. I don't know if it's physically possible to convert one to 2wd like that though, but inside my sleep-deprived brain it seems reasonable. Whether or not it's worth it to you, would be another question.
Nice chattin' with ya RITTER.
