Fuel line routing

I am in need to re-route the fuel line on a Pontiac Lemans. The previous owner ran a copper line from the right frame side up below the AC, and from there a rubber hose over the wheel well down to the fuel pump of the Chevy SB. I know this isn't how its supporsed to be and having a rubber hose flapping close to the exhaust manifolds is in my eyes just plain stupid.

Does anybody know what the original trajectory of the fuel lines were? Inside along the frame, over the cross-member of the engine and from there up to the fuel pump or just through the frame to the front? Any picture of the correct setups are most appreciated!

Being you have a Pontiac with a Chevy engine.

You might want the fuel lines from a Malibu which run up the passengers side chassis under the body then into the chassis under the nose.

Then out that oval hole in the K frame

You can see the fuel supply hose hanging out the front of the crossmember. Sometimes if you have a fuel return line or vent lines back to the tank, they'll be right next to the supply line. The line runs along the inside of the frame then shoots out that hole in the front of the crossmember a little bit. Normally, just enough to get the hose clamped on. Technically you could run it on either side if needed as the other side has the same hole.
