fuel pump question

My thing is that a sump ain't much cheaper than a fuel cell and by the time I pay someone to weld it in it would probably be same price. I don't mind losing trunk space as this isn't a grocery getter. I just want the best out of what I buy. In your opinion would a cell be the way to go?

I personally like fuel cells but that is my preference, the good ones are a little more pricey but I prefer aluminum fuel cells with safety foam and a GM sender and you will have bungs welded on top for return lines and venting. And for me not having a gas tank underneath gave the room I needed to make my 4" tailpipes.
The plastic fuel cells always seam to deform over time and drop down in the middle and look like crap.
I guess the price for a good fuel cell would be comparable with buying a new gas tank and the sump and then having to pay someone install it and then reseal the tank but never pricing doing a gas tank myself I am not sure.
But like I said it is more of a personal preference.

I just checked the temp. on my pump and it is the same temp. as it is outside which is 82 degrees, the filter that goes into the pump is 77 degrees.
I also have a trunk mounted battery and I have a fuse panel and relays in the trunk that go to the fuel pumps and nitrous etc so they are getting full power with short leads.

What ohm sender would I need. They seem to come with a 0 empty and 90 full.

If you are hooking it up to stock gauge that would be correct or any aftermarket gauge with the same ohm rating, I have Autometer Ultralites with a 0-90 ohm for fuel level.

You just need to use the wire going to your original sender and wire it to he positive on the fuel cell sender and then ground the other side of the sender to a good chassis ground.

I just seen were you posted the temp of your pump. So with the temp on my pump being so high I'm gonna need to start replacing parts. I'm gonna get a fuel cell and run all new line. Did you run braided line all the way up front. Would it be safe to use normal hose front the auto store? Also would it be best to run a return line?

All the hoses on my car are braided and all I use are AN fittings, I personally would not use auto store hose and fittings but I suppose they would work if sized properly but to me that would be a temporary fix until I got braided.
You could also use hardline with a minimum of 3/8" ID and adapt it to your fittings
I have also bought braided hose and AN fittings on Ebay at excellent prices and most have been high quality and I have had no issues with them.
As far as a return line you would need a regulator that has a bypass to send fuel back to the cell.
My Paxton has a bypass on the pump that returns fuel to the cell and the Mallory just deadheads.
A nice fuel system can get expensive real fast so plan out everything you will need and decide if the end cost is really something you can afford or even need.
