Going to replace the sending unit. Will let you know how it goes. They need to special order this part. TY

Just curious...what did you find in the tank? Rust? clogged sender? Why did you decide to replace the sender?

I cant figure out why he's dropping the tank either if it won't run on sep fuel source ( AKA IV drip ). It's like replacing the tires on a bicycle that has no chain 🙂

yeah...this thread has Deja Vu written all over it....

No there was no rust in the tank. Im just guessing a bad sending unit. Once I install the new part will see. TY

The sending unit only works the gauge in the dash....it wont have anything to do with gas not getting to the engine/fuel pump. I mention a clogged sender..but was referring to the sock on the pickup tube...

Well you followed the lines back, no clog in either of the filters correct? I agree with adding more gas to the tank, then there should be no reason for the lack of fuel to the carb. I assume you checked the power source and that the pump is actually going on right? Also, many pumps are directional, just make sure you have it going the right way lol.

...but with this particular pump, the lines are all different that connect to it. It would be impossible to connect them wrong  I would agree with adding more fuel, put like 5 gallons in it. Start the car with some gas in the carburetor and maybe keep it running for like 20 seconds or so (using gas or starting fluid spray) this will give the pump a chance to turn at normal engine speeds and could possibly be what it needs to get the fuel flowing good

there is only one filter and thats the one by the carb. Its a clear one. No gas coming. the lines are dried up dont smell any gas. I also put about 5 gallons in the tank. Still nothing. and the lines are installed in the pump correctly. My only guess is the sending unit. Yes the sock could be clogged. Dont want to try and repair it. I will just replace. The part should be here today or tomorrow. Will see what happens. I am really out of options if this doesnt work. 😱 😱 😱
