Hey guys trying to work some bugs out with the car. I get into high rpm around the 5000 mark and engine starts to cut out. I think it could be starving for fuel but I'm not sure. Could anyone describe what fuel starvation feels like?

If it was starvin for fuel it wouldn't make it to 5000 RPM without fallin on its face. What are u running for a ignition module?

My Car Did That And I Replaced The Main Feed Line And It Stopped

You said 5000 rpm, but in what gear? To be sure i'd hook up a pressure gauge and tape it to the windsheild before I started swapping anything.
I had a fuel issue with my supercharged 400 in an S10. 1st and 2nd gear were ok, but it would fall on it's face around 4000 in third. The headers would be glowing red from leaning out so bad. I put a guage on it to confirm it. You could see that through 1st and 2nd you weren't at the higher rpm long enough for there to be a big problem but by the time I hit third you could see the pressure just start falling off.

That's 5000rpm while in first gear. Haven't got it that high in other gears due to the posted speed limit. My other thought is that it could be is the MSD Streetfire HEI breaking down.

Posted speed limit? Where do you live, Pansyville?

Without knowing more, yes it's possible your issues could be fuel starvation, but it could be ignition related as well. It's really kind of hard to diagnous over the interweb.

Could be valve float as well. Does it fall on its face at 5000 or just starts missing or just wont rev past 5000

I would describe it as feeling like a bunch of misfires at once, engine shakes then clears up once the rpms fall lower. It will rev past 5000 just not nearly as quickly as it does until that point.

Everything in the motor is new and the springs are matched to the cam.

Turns out it is the MSD Streetfire HEI distributor causing the issue. I spoke to MSD tech support they said I need to put an ignition box on to support higher rpm use. They told me that the distributor I bought will start dropping spark as early as 4000rpm.
