PontiacGP I went out & checked 4 of my GP's. 2 being a 2+2 none of those had the spacers so you should be good. I do not have any EFI Gp's here to check. So your good, & I'm dirty again after getting cleaned up from installing that double pumper. :mrgreen:
I do know the The Buicks do have these. He posted in the Buick Sections so I think this may be what the problem is on his tank. Hopefully this post will help some others in the future.

Thanks for checking that out. I like the idea of using the spacers since without them it's just a guess to know when the bolts are tight enough. For all I know I may have it too tight and stressing the straps, bolts and anchors
 
Just this thread and this is exactly where I sit. Fought the new efi tank for an hour and a half and my factory bolts came up almost 2" short. Now to find new bolts and make spacers
 
I think I have a similar issue. Just got my new gas tank in from goodmark and go to install it and the straps are nearly impossible to get on. The bolts act like they are too short. I think I need the longer bolts as well. I dont have the original tank either to compare to .
