Ok guys so i have changed my mind from my initial build. Originally I went with comp magnum roller tip rockers. I have decided I want a full roller setup. So the magnums will be for sale son. Only ran about an hour since I built the motor

Now my question, which are the best choice for price etc and why:

Comp high energy full roller rocker aprx $170

Harland Sharp full roller rocker $229

Scorpion full roller $232

Note: I am running the standard size edelbrock finned valve covers

I think Harland Sharp makes a good rocker for the money. Mine are over 10 years old and I've never had a problem.

Scorpion are good as well. Friend of mine has ran them on a couple different engines. Made well. Made in America too. You cannot go wrong with any of those brands though. Good choice on getting rid of the roller tips. They are no better than a stamped rocker. The area roller rockers help in is the trunion, not the tip that touches the valve.

Harland sharps are very good and gaurenteed for life. I dont believe any full roller rockers will fit under stock height valve covers do to the polly locks sticking up higher but i could be wrong.

well if thats the case there might be a set of stock height elites available in the for sale section. and talls will be on order.

I would either go with Comps or Scorpion. I've only had good success with them. Mainly Comps. I had Harland Sharps on my Oldsmobile engine then changed them out for Comps...Person prefference I guess. Those new Comps High Energy #1601-16 which are 3/8 stud 1.5 ratio are really nice. plus I know from experience that both the comps and scorpions will clear those covers. Ive used the 4248 and 4244(no name on cover) and they clear no problem with a double thick cork gasket. You can get those from Felpro. Hope this helps.

i currently run a cork gasket on my valve covers as i know they have always sealed better.

you are sure that the comps and scorpions will both fit under my valve covers? i like to order at once if i need to so that i can save on shipping if need be.

the price point on the comp cams new high energy full rollers is nice. the only thing that bothers me is that they are new and substantially cheaper than all others. i dunno. just wish i could find out some info on them besides from manufacturers

Well the Comps your talking about whats their part number just too make sure were talking about the same ones. The part number I use is 1601-16 ive also used the 1301-16 which was discontinued and superseeded my the 1601-16. But the engines ive built have the different edelbrock heads with success with those come rockers. And ive used them on the 4244 and 4248 Elite series valve covers.

17001-16 are the comps I was referencing. And scp-1000 are the scorpion I was referencing
