I know most people on this forum who have Gs don't beat on their cars, but rather baby them. But does anyone have or used to own a G Body beater?

I use to my old 1986 Monte Carlo was a beater . Rust holes everywhere roof leaked doors where rotted out. Had primer paint only lol old pacer rally wheels . At one point I drove it with no grill or bumper cover and a pizza box and trash bag or the sunroof.

I beat on my '83 Cutlass when I'm home. That's the main reason I keep going through transmissions. Also have an '85 Cutlass that used to be a daily driver, but now it just a yard ornament and has been since 2007. Never really beat on it, but took nice, long road trips in it w/instances of "spirited driving".

One of my coworkers has an El Camino SS that's rusty, crusty, and direly in need of paint. On the other hand, he's a damn good mechanic and used to be an automotive machinist, so I'm sure the actual workings are in quite a lot better of shape. He's just... not great at the aesthetics, as exemplified by his exceptionally ugly 1957 Chevrolet pickup on a 4x4 Suburban drivetrain that he custom painted entirely with chunky bed liner.

1978 buttless Cutlass. $200 beater that lasted two years. Junk noisy clanking pos 260 with a worn out cam/valve train. Puke blue interior and moderate rust. Slow like a dog turd drying up in the sun and looked about as bad. Drove it to the junkyard even though some guy wanted to buy it for $200 bucks. Told him this pos needed to die because it was a death trap waiting to happen (rusted out frame and brake lines). He couldn't understand and I didn't care. I probably saved his life or the person in oncoming traffic. :D I have no pictures because the memory of that turd can never be erased. :?

Beater was an understatement. :puke:

Although this wagon was my daily driver for 10 years, it was quite the beater. On Friday nights, I would go to Barber's Point and BEAT Mustangs and Camaros (the ones on which payments were still being made...)
Best time was 14.67@82. 406/1406/200-4R/3.73/Auburn. If I got the highbeams flashing me to get out of the way on H1, I loved watching expressions on the rice pilot's faces as they got small in the review mirror.
Then, if I didn't have a duty day, I'd pick up four of my friends, fill the back with 10 air bottles and 5 dive bags. They usually covered the gas, lunch, and air. Fugly is an excellent security system for an Alpine radio!

Strangely, I like it. The grill reminds me of the grill on my old 46 Farmall tractor.
