i dont usually say much unless i have a question but i cant help it. i work for honda and have done so for a while. we run a civic at the local circle track and kick *ss b-c we can turn 8500 to 9500 rpms in 2nd gear . i hear the same ol sh*t over and over again bout vtec b16 blah blah im old school raised on hot rods and drag racing so which leads me to thid why the hell are we talkin bout hondas on a g=body forum 😀

cause we are bored and we cant really pick on any domestic cars? lol

because General Discussion and Off Topic are the two time killer sections not dedicated to answering average technical questions dedicated to G bodies specifically. I for one welcome other topics, and like having a place to argue esoteric issues. As I have said before, if you don't like one topic, there are plenty more to choose from. Besides, it has been my experience in life that Hot Rodders are naturally curious people who think about more than one kind of car or technology. If they weren't, the hobby would have died with the Flathead Ford.

Now for my money, there are two cars I really want to swap a Honda B16 into: original Austin Mini, and Sachsenring Trabant 601 (from Communist East Germany). Ok, throw the Honda Z600 Kei car in there too. Super light so the lack of torque is an advantage, not a liability, and small enough to be fast and fuel efficient with a high RPM 1.6.

Since when did making Hondas powerful get cheap?

I thought all it took was 2 bottles of "naws" ... the really big ones!

I am also rather baffled ... if G-bodies take so much effort for such low returns ... why are we here and not on a Honda board. I plan on low to mid 13s with no add-ons, no goofy carbon-fiber and coming out under $1200. spent in the engine swap, the machining and parts upgrades of said engine, transmission, differential and exhaust .... but maybe I just haven't seen F&F enough times to know what really goes into fast cars.
Sure it's still going to be a beater ... body work is expensive and secondary.

I concur

I don't think I have more than $2200 into the car as it sits, and that includes the $ paid for it  Give me 5 grand, I'll give you a 10 second beater 😀

just to throw it out there i would put c/f on my regal if they made it lol. I love the stuff, love the weight, love the durability. hate the cost lol.

If I could get a real carbon fiber front clip I would...then I would paint it to match the car. I like the lightness, but I am also into sleepers.I wonder what the weight difference would be though, compared to my aluminum hood.
