The louder exhaust is pretty annoying, but I think the people who think VTEC is amazing are even more annoying. All it does is allow that torque and horsepower produced by the engine to last longer. Those who say "VTEC JUST KICKED IN YO" are just making themselves look stupid because when it does kick in you shouldn't feel it, your car will just keep accelerating quickly for a longer period of time.

Now that I got that rant in. 😀

actually, Vtec does kick in, in fact a short simple explanation of Vtec is a system that switch's lobes on a cam, or, on DOHC motors, cams altogether. So anybody who know's what their talking about or ever has driven a Honda with Vtec will defiantly feel feel it. Here you might need to read up... http://www.hondahookup.com/info/vtec.php
oh and here's some 1/4 mile times for you along with picture's and videos of Honda's that are 'amazing'

I think anti ricers are even less educated than actuall ricers. If you dont understand it dont talk about it, if its not your taste, dont talk about it, if you dont like it, get over it. I grew into cars thanks to f&f and NSF:underground2. So i never would have got into cars without those influences and there would be one less regal about to hit the road. I just went to Import face off yesterday and the only cars not running 13's and less were scions.

Thank you. Point made. I'm getting pretty sick of people going on and on about something they know nothing about. They make themselves look stupid, and are annoying. lol

I have seen all of them i only liked the cars and girls the story line sucked in everyone of them. The new trailer looks good just hope they wrote a good real story. The funny thing is the first eleanor was a 73 mach1.I have a 68 mustang that is a california special clone i do get sick of people asking if its a Shelby or eleanor i keep pointing to the california special badges they don't get it.And yes vtec does kick but its a gas saver it chokes the engine at lower rpms to save gas the kick you feel is when it stops choking it.

That's exactly what I thought, because when you change cams you will increase the time the valves open and that should cause you to feel a difference, usually high up in RPMS when VTEC usually kicks in, but when you have a lot of people telling you otherwise and a site that says otherwise you tend to believe them.

You don't have to hide behind your words, just say "phaZe", you're an idiot. Or something to that effect.

I know how VTEC works and without throwing on a turbocharger and maybe a nitrous system, you won't be getting those low quarter mile times. These stock Honda engines that have VTEC have no power compared to the B16's and B18's which are the performance engines Honda makes and those performance engines are the ones capable of getting those low quarter mile times.

Hey, no offense Phaze, I'd just appreciate it if you'd do without the name calling when you know nothing about the subject  It make's everybody get along better. 8) And I agree it takes lotsa time and money to get a Vtec to do those times. But doesn't it take that in anything (including our G Bodys)??? Don't just bash something because you don't agree with it because around ever corner there's somebody who does.

vTeC oNz U!! j/k

I've owned 2 cars with VTEC, a 2001 Prelude and a 1998 Acura 3.0 CL. There is a noticeable difference in the sound and feel of the engine when at the crossover point, almost like when you kickdown a 4 bbl carb. If these cars didn't have variable timing, they would fall on the face in the upper rpm range.

The CL had the 3 liter V6 that pulled with a good amount of torque, not a bad car.

In the Prelude however after 4200 rpm when VTEC engaged, light black smoke would pour out of the exhaust. Was told that was normal in the H22a engine. It would go through almost a quart of oil every 3000 miles. Pretty decent car even if it did use some oil.

I prefer Hondas over G-Bodys, but that's just me. I'm 18 and have grown up with these modern cars. I love American Muscle, but I just love the fact that you can go out and buy a Honda and customize the hell out of it and make it truly your own for a few grand. 😀

I'd love to make my Cutty more powerful and look the way I want it too, but the time and cost isn't that appealing right now.

Since when did making Hondas powerful get cheap?

You can get the performance Honda engines from Japan for around a grand including the transmission. They have to toss the engines after around 30,000 miles due to regulations by the Japanese Government.

That and the cost of a body kit, spoiler, racing seats, turbocharger and a paint job would probably cost around 4 grand.

A G-Body would require restoration, a new engine, transmission, rear end, rims, tires, supercharger, suspension, and a lot of labor.
