I've driven the parts car around a little bit. It's not as hateful as you would think. It actually steers easy. Just when you are stopped you have to put a little *ss into it.

Good point. Just don't understand why you would want manual steering

From what i read
"Steering won't be a problem while moving. It will be a little stiff when sitting still but will be fine as soon as you start rolling".

I knew an old guy with a '69 Catalina, 400 motor, manual steering. I thought that made no sense until I drove it- was I surprised. As stated, as long as the wheels are rolling you can't tell the difference. Since then I put a manual boxes in my '68 Firebird and my '81 Malibu wagon. The ONLY reason I have power in my current Bonnewagon is because manual totally sucks at the boat ramp.

that is incorrect, no circle track car uses manual steering. It's a drain on the driver and if you get into trouble you have a b!tch of time getting it straightened out cause it's too easy to over correct when you are fighting the wheel. Dirt track cars even use a doubler in the steering shaft to get the wheels to turn quicker.
