I did a 5.7 stock rebuild with vortec heads with a little work for the cheap Z-28 valve springs. Left to motor at a 9.1 for cheap gas and the GM HOT CAM with a set of 1.6 rockers. Thing made stupid power on the dyno 416HP to be exact, for spending a little more then $1300. from the oil pan to the valve covers. A friend runs one in a S10 at the track with a 700r4 and it runs low 12s high 11s on DR tires.

its just a performance robbing pos on a carb setup... i'm sure it would probably rip in an EFI setup, but its robbing too much power from my carb set up... dont get me wrong, i am not saying the lt4 hot cam is a bad cam, i'm just saying its wrong for MY set up... is my car still decent for a daily driver, sure it is, smoked an old porshe 944 the other day, thought the kid was gonna piss himself that my old chevy took him, but the lt4 cam leaves alot on the table...

What sort of issues have you had? I've read about tons of people running a carb with the LT4 Hotcam with no issues. I myself am building a ZZ430 clone motor which of course uses the LT4 hotcam with fast burn heads. So your feedback on the issues would be greatly appreciated!

The problem you have with the Hot Cam is the heads on a 350. You need some RPM to get those big runner working. Change the heads to something in the 170-180cfm range or stroke it out to a 383 and it will wake the motor up. Or just change the cam to something that will work with a 200cfm heads and spin it up. Been their and done that, so that's how I know

Ok, you are referring to the stock heads I take it? I went with a set of Aluminum Fast Burns.
