gas struts for Hood??

I've never paid attention to this before but I guess GN's have gas strut hoods?? IS it possible to make a Monte carlo to have this Gas Strut? or is the bracketry not interchangable?

All regals 81-87 for sure had the strut. I've never tried to use the brackets but I don't think they are a direct swap.

Both regals that I've owned (84,87) have had the struts. Even my mom's '01 regal has them.
