It'll be under the hood coming off the engine harness to the A/C harnes. Check it out if after you look over the switch.

I think what you cleaned is the conductive grease that is used to keep the contacts from oxidizing. You may want to research that.

Now all you have to do is find out what caused the fuse to blow.
