Getting your exhaust note dialed in: Challenging ?

Garret, did you have to clean off the seat after the dyno guy floored it in the last few seconds of the video? I thought the car was about to leave the dyno!

Haha thats the elco from Street Outlaws with the fender zoomies. It's ridiculous. Hoping mine is half as nasty, but better sounding with collectors, x-pipe, and mufflers.

You could try black widow mufflers I have a pair for my car mind you I am not putting them on till I get the time to bend my stainless. Right now I have jegs 2.5 ss system the drone is not bad even with my interior gutted but I have only ever driven around our shop

You meant half a million in Baht right? lol

or perhaps Rupees
Ok I understand it's a foreign car in a foreign country so how ever many millions of whatevers it takes to repair
And fix those umpteen mufflers and the golden witch in the back seat is up the that fool with too much $$$$$

i recently ran my new build for a little while with dynomax vt's... my t-roof seals are shot, heard those leaks... with hood open during tune-up heard the injectors pulsing... does sound boomy while it gets to temp... but 'martens right up once she gets into open loop. part number 17957..

i fitted up an x-pipe system, tucked 'er right in/up tight and flat for a clean look. once my balance issue gets resolved, i'll try and grab video of it.
i've heard(read actually) pontiacgp mention they get a higher pitch sound to them with x-pipes, and i must agree, even though i have not heard them without the x-pipe to know for sure. they sure sound a lot fancier than the car looks...and although it has only a bit of run-time on it, the rattles i've read about are non-existent. they have what looks like super-pressed stainless steel wool pads on the valves, and that same material makes up the valve's shaft bushings. while accelerating the motor with no load, they sound crisp! hard to explain with words. saw a video on youtube... a "this" versus "that" versus "with tailpipes" vs "without"... a nice little mustang on jack stands in a home garage.

at idle, with the vt's, i'm reminded of the flowtech raptors i ran on a 2,25" flowmaster "exhaust in a box" on full length headers behind a performer cammed 327. ran that same motor on a set of thrush welded's on a 3" true dual set-up, 2.5" tails, and it was somewhat tolerable for noise levels, but it became absolutely rude on a roller cammed 383. drone was so unbearable, i hated driving it at 50mph, which happens to be the posted speed limit for the first hour of driving leaving town. not that i've done it, but i'd rather have concocted a trailler for a straight-pipes 96 incher, and placed my head as close as possible to the bike's tailpipes...

Getting ready to embarrass myself here with my wimpy stock engine compared to everyone's souped up small blocks and mean *ss big blocks lmao
Its an improvement though haha. 2 1/4 single pipe with Flowmaster 80 with fake duals was the old exhaust. New system is single 2 1/2 pipe with high flow cat and a Flowmaster Super 10

I put 2.5 with headers and MagnaFlows on my Malibu, but do not like the sound. Ot goes out and dumps behind the rear tires. At idle it's a great rumble...revving it up...Has this glass pack warble...not my thing. So, it's going back for Flowmasters.

My Regal has a 350 Buick with a can similar to a 268 with manifolds and 2.5 with Thrush welded chamber mufflers and its really good. They are over the rear, dumps behind the tire sorta like a GN

I've been through a few changes with my exhuast. I orignally had full length headers and a 2.5" Jegs true dual kit that exited out the back. It had a turbo style muffler that I wasnt really a fan of. I cut the exhaust off so it exited behind the rear tires. Then I added Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers, better, but still not what I was looking for. Then i went to Flowmaster Super 10's. Much louder, still with no drone which was good. But under load it was very crackly and almost ear piercing. So I added an H-pipe which also changed the sound a lot, it seemed more mellow and eliminated the crackle. I'm pretty happy with it now.
