I picked up a leaf spring axle for the '72 C10 parts truck. When I unloaded it, I noticed for the first time that is was different from the other one. It had the same cover, but the axle tube ends taper down where they go into the backing plates. The perches are wider apart, about 45" rather than the 42.5" found on the truck. Five lug axles. Overall width is the same. What did I buy? '64-'66? The black painted one is the original axle for comparison.

Didn't all '67-'72 C10's have coil rear suspension? The C20/30 & K10/20/30 used leafs. C10's in '67-'69 had 6 lugs, '70-'72 had 5.

67-72 were coil springs standard on 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton, leaf optional for both GMC and Chevrolet
