GM 7.5 Yoke bolts

I tried the bolts with the two different size taps, 9 x 1.25 and 9 x 1.00. The bolt starts to thread into the 9 x 1.25 and then stops...the 9 x 1.00 threads right thru with no effort.
I also checked them with a thread gauge.

are you sure the thread isn't 5/16 x 24

no haha, thats what i was curious about because my old rear end was original to the car (80 malibu) and the new one is from a metric MC

Was able to chase the threads and pontiacgp you were right, they were 5/16 24 on both the old and New yoke

GM had a lot of fun with us on the G-body. Metric here and SAE there. No rhyme or reason.
