Watching some of those old videos and seeing the specs on that truck almost makes me consider turbocharging the 4.3 in my Monte Carlo instead of dropping in the Vortec 350. Of course when Roadkill put a turbo on the 4.3 in the Rotsun I thought the same thing. Maybe I'm just fascinated with turbos. Lol.

Swap tbi for a fitech system, plumb turbo and upgrade fuel pump. That's the most basic stuff you'll need.

It wouldn't take a lot to put a turbo on it and with modern EFI, tuning would be relatively uncomplicated. One major concern I would have with the engine that's in the car now would be durability/reliability. I had the valve covers off when I first got the car to tighten the rockers down and quiet that clickity-click sound. There was SO MUCH SLUDGE!!!! This little 4.3 is nasty inside. I'd hate to try to throw boost at it and expect it to stay together. Who knows how many miles are on the poor little thing. I'd also miss that V8 sound. I've been missing it for a long time now. A V6 will never sound as good to me. If I end up getting a second G Body, a turbo V6 may happen but for now I think I'm gonna stick with the V8. Plus, the Vortec 350 I have looks like it's been rebuilt recently.

Think about it harder. Turbo torque is something else. That vortec 350 would put out some nice numbers. That Fitech system is pretty much all built into the size of a large carburator(sensors and PCM) May have to add one or two sensors but that thing is boost ready. I have a 400 sbc I'd like to boost just to see what it does. Maybe when I retire.

I have a 1992 GT and only 806 made still have it 350 V8 and has 2001 rear end 8.5 w/diso brake out frony 13.5 rotor from C5 vette i always wanted one myself until i got this
