They were based on the Buick Century body...
So that ugly aero-nose is actually an improvement! lol
If I could get my hands on a front clip, I'd put it on my Buick in a heartbeat!!!
 
Where did you find that pic? Is this supposed to be a more recent picture of this car?
It also looks like it's had a few changes here and there.

Call me weird, but I actually quite like the Buick Century front clip. Maybe it's because I own one and it's grown on me so much because it's familiar, but I actually prefer it over all of the others with the exception of a few.

It's awesome that he has a fleet of these cars. However, they're all 4-dr sedans...no wagons.
I wonder if he actually accomplished the cross country excursion with these cars as he was intending to do?
If I recall from reading about the (Volt) wagon version, the top speed was only 70 mph and cruising speed like 55 mph. At the time it was manufactured, the national highway speed was only 55 mph.
