GM's UAW on strike!!!

Article said workers make 45K-90K... assume most line workers are in the 45-55 range.
In a land where prices on everything have tripled in less than 20 years, that's not as much as you'd think...
Article also said workers agreed to a cost of living freeze 10 years ago during the bankruptcy to help out GM...
Now that GM is making 8 Billion in profits, they want their cost of living increase back.
And you think the workers are lazy and greedy?
And you're glad that potentially tens of thousands of people would be out of work?
Go ahead and watch whatever anti-union news outlet you love to absorb but remember...
Once these jobs are gone, they're gone, and there's not room for everybody to have a desk job like they'd love for you to believe...

So, some workers want to be treated fairly and you'd rather see everybody lose their jobs?
Real nice...

if this is what it takes to disband the union then it's worth it.....

Then remove the corrupt officials.
Don't **** over the hundreds of thousands of people that have nothing to do with it.

it's the unions that are screwing over the people to get what the workers "need". Do the big shots at the union ever go on strike?. If it was not for the comrade workers the union would have no power

JMO, but I believe UAW workers for the Big 3 are a bunch of spoiled little brats and this is the temper tantrum they throw when they don't get what they want.

I tend to agree with you. The foreign manufacturers who build cars in the US have proven that they don't need the UAW to keep their workers happy and still produce a quality product.

However I'm pretty disgusted with GM's current corporate culture and their current product lineup is sh*t so I wish the UAW well.

Look, I became a member of a weak *ss union 21 years ago. I work hard (when needed) and have to support the FMLA abuser leaches. There's one P.o.S. that been out since February! I cannot and will not do that. I've never collected unemployment from the state, either. What sucks is that we're putting in the time and they're juicing the bennies. At the same time, I see the way the company treats lower and middle management, so I put my time in with my fingers in my ears singing "la,la,la, I can't hear you!". Thanks for cars!!!

It is hard to have compassion for these labor strikes when you know that you have about a week or two before you are out of work, because nobody is buying the parts you make for them.

when I worked for Canadair and then Bombardier I was forced to be in a union, the union held my pay back cause all the sheep got paid the same. I could have bargained for a higher pay cause I was good at my job. I was told that I was at the highest pay scale for a unionized worker. I told my bosses a few times to get rid my red badge meaning I'm unionised and to give me a management job but leave me on the floor. They would not give me the raise I demanded so I quit after 10 years on the job My last postion on the floor was to repair the screw ups of 3 guys on the final line. The union protected those guys even though they cost the company money and there was alot more like them.
