Sorry I didn't see this post earlier. The ones on my '87 are 6.25" without the spacer.

It appears the average overall length seems to be around 6.25" which is about where mine were at, but I did some mock ups and found that the 5.75" measurement that lilbowtie used on his would get me to where the spoiler holes would line up and there is still enough clearance from the grill to the bumper and to me it actually looks better so mine are now 5.75"
