GN springs into V8 car

Sway bars are a tuning device used to fine tune roll stiffness front to rear. If the car understeers (like a G body), it needs a bigger rear bar, not a bigger front bar only. If you want to do a bigger front, be sure to get a correspondingly larger rear. I like the stock fronts just fine, but would want at least a 1 in rear.

I also agree that the Eibachs are a bit on the stiff side up front. I am thinking about lowering the rate when I do the tall spindle swap and then figure out how to fix the bump steer issue. I gotta get out my old issues of Sport Compact Car and find the articles on bump steer geometry...

85 Cutlass....you have to be careful with running a large rear bar....a large rear bar will give you less body roll but it will also loosen the car up.....in the front if the bar is to large it'll place too much pressure on the outside tire and tend to lift the inside tire off the ground. To help with the oversteer (tight) tendicies of a G body I've lowered the car, run higher spring rate (660) with extra heavy valving in the front shocks and instead of the +1 degree camber I run with a -1 degree camber... you'll be surprised what the change in the camber settings will do to the handling and it'll save the wear on the outside edge of the front tires..
