Hello, Buick Family are there any chrome parts on my 84 regal that need 2 be painted black and or taken off 2 make it look like a Gnx clone
(make as many replies as possible) Thanx, Squinky33 😀

I'm wondering how much $$$ and how many hours labor and time spent tracking down the parts did you put into the vehicle to turn it into a clone and how that compares to purchasing the real thing...

Seeing as he wants a clone of the GNX, i'd say it's next to impossible to buy it for the same $ as to make a clone.

Start looking at pictures. You'd have more luck on turbobuick.com for this type of thing.

A gn and gnx are different but both have zero chrome its all black even the bumpers.Start with shaving the hood ornament off the header the grill and head light trim is tricky to paint and buying them black is pricey. The gnx has fender flares which are pricey and used different gauges in any other gn had.

lol, i would just make a classy t-type clone if anything lol, black is overrated.

Ah! don't shave anything. They're held on by pins on the backside.

How is plastic hard to scratch up with paper, prime, and spray paint?

How big is the hole underneath the hood ornament?

I was planning on taking mine off... Is it too big to fill with dynaglass? I'm pretty good with that stuff haha. I could pry crazy glue some mesh on the back side to give it some support.

The mounting hole under the hood orniment can be filled with glass -- I've done it on my GN clone.

I do agree with the eariler statement about the high cost of making a clone. The only reason I did it was because the car had been in my family since '86 and the fact that the job was already started...

To reduce the cost, you could just try to have the chrome media blasted and paint it yourself with a satin black paint...

Just my $.02
