When I was a kid in the 80s, I wanted a 1983/1984 Honda Interceptor. Did not care if it was a 700 or 1000cc. Today I found a 1984 700 or 750 in a thousand pieces but with a title for $250. Guy tore it apart 10 years ago, had the trans and carbs rebuilt. He gave a guy the fairing to repair and paint then never got it back. I think its buildable but it will be for later down the line of my other projects. Just was not going to let it go by for $250

great score , from the first time I saw a honda interceptor I wanted one.
well it's still on my I want list.
I have not seen one in years.

I have an 85 500CC I did a complete restoration on, and an 83 750cc that is whole but not running yet. Great find and have fun.

I had to google what they looked like, because I couldn't remember that far back...😕

now I remember the coolness of them...gorgeous bike, but am I remembering right, that they had a problem with dirt building up on the radiator from splashback from the front tire? will be watching the non-g thread in the future for this project!

I know for sure an older Honda Seems like a great deal when it's $250 in the basket.
Let me tell you a story, My son and I purchased a used 86 Honda Rebel 450 2 1/2 years ago.
It has since been sold. Why you ask ? Because after we got it we realized that they were
only made in 2 model years and parts were very difficult to get and were extremely expensive
when you did find them. This did not stop us and we built the bike to completion.
A full on custom. Would I ever go there again ? No way. you may find similar results
in your quest to find parts for a 35 year old bike. Some may be easy to find, Everything you need
to put it back to square one. Thats a tough call. Honda Does not support bikes back that far.
Good luck. If you can find a parts bike to use as a donor might be helpful.

I had a 1982 Honda 500 ascot some years ago. Nice bike but single cylinder. Kind of like a dirt bike in street bike trim.
I sold it in 1989. Then in 2011 I purchased a 2000 model Suzuki SV 650 nice bike as well parts all over the place.
Then after the issues with my sons bike, I decided to purchase another bike. This time a 2000 vstar 650 Classic.
Bike was in decent shape but only ridden a total of 500 miles between 2007 and 2014. It was stored in an open
animal barn . Yes cows and chickens and the like. I got it for a song. Well after we got it home and started
working on it we realized what had been neglected. Everything. The bike ran but the carbs were so gummed up
they had to be replaced. I got it running and has been a good bike since. Tons of after market and stock parts
for these without questions. They have been in production since 1998 and stopped just a few years ago.
The custom version is still being made. The long process of customization took over and here's how she looks
today. I did everything myself.

Today I made a run to a local motorcycle salvage in Tulsa. I've been a million times before for parts on my 3 GPZ's and Maxim. I scored a nice gas tank, one perfect side cover with no broken tabs and a nice front fairing with windscreen for $125. I need to take the gas tank to a locksmith cause no key. The tank on my bike has two big dents so replacing is faster. I'm on a first name basis with those guys so I get good deals sometimes. I washed the thick barn dust off the bike with my hose today and it shows 29,000 miles. I snapped a pic at the bike salvage

Wow , Thats a gold mine you have close by. So do they have more parts for your
project interceptor ? If they do and the price is right, Great.
You still might want to keep an eye open for a parts bike that does not run but complete.
