Vmax was and still is baddass. You don't see very many of those around anymore.
The Suzuki M109R is pretty bad *ss for a cruiser/ crotch rocket.
I just wish the motorcycle makers would hold off discontinuing parts longer than they do.
How some of these guys restore these older bikes is beyond me.
I have a family member with a 47 Indian. Cool old bike, but a damn handful to ride.
And mostly when he rides it anywhere it will leave him stranded and he has to call the wife
to come get him with the truck. He's rebuilding the engine now and many parts are near
impossible to find. Luckily he has a mechanic that knows these well and can adapt other parts
to fix this thing. Normal thinking is thrown out the window on this ride.
Some of these old bikes are easier to find parts for then others. Triumph still has a large aftermarket for their older bikes, they're even making repop tanks for them again (thankfully). Harley's the same way. Some of the stuff can be difficult to track down (Pan and Knuckle head) but Shovel and Evo is readily available. Glad you have a good bike salvage yard by you and good luck on the build. Even if it is metric, it's always nice to see something old back on the road again.
