Got an olds 307? Dont know what to do? LOOK HERE!

Maybe a dumb question but do you think it will hurt the value of an 83 H/O to do some of these mods ? I have an 83 H/O and would like more hp but don't want to replace the original motor. Some of these examples seem to be what I'm looking for , not a lot of hp but good enough for street cruising . any opinions?

I know some people pull the original engines and but in a hopped up one. Obviously keeping the original motor but "saving" it.

I wouldn't say so...Directly when I got my cutlass all the blah blah about olds 307 sucks...waste of time and I wanted to pull a 307 build on the motor that came in my cutlass. But my motor blew with in a week of owning my cutlass and went with the olds 350. I fell you can and should modify that motor as you heart desires, in a external bases. My thoughts are we to run a set of olds 350 heads with some port work, edelbrock intake, set of long tubes and a cam should result a decent 307 to happy with. Also have you considered checking your gear ratio that is one of the things that make the cutlasses seem slow as Heck due to mpg gear ratios...

It'll more than likely suck for you if you were to pull up next to a g-body with one of the 400+hp 307's and see it right on the side of you at 120mph with your 454!

Yeah, I got it. He said he'll take $300 for the motor but he was trying to get rid of it all together.... Too bad I don't have the $300! lol I asked for his number just in case I do hit a stroke of luck though!
