ok boys, i got another problem with my newest regal i picked up,
when i purchased it, i never had this problem but a day or 2 ago it came up. my right turn signal doesent "flash" the light literally just stays on both on the indicator in the dash and the outside lamps, no flash nothing just on, but my left signal still flashed like it should..whats the deal , whats going on? is this a bad fuse or bad buld or something more complex like wiring in the colum? i kno the colum needs some work, should i just grab a new colum outta the wreckers or what? thanks guys

Check your bulbs first as that is the most common reason. Less common would be a bad connector in one of the harnesses, with the taillight harness getting my vote as most probable. Just put the signals on and see what bulb does not light. Two bulbs per taillight should illuminate as well as the front turn signal. The side markers make no difference usually.

What about the flasher?Check the hazards and see if all the lights work with that to,then try switching the hazard, and blinker flasher..thats a easy check.

mine did the same... check you trunk wiring but careful not to break them.. they are alumium wires

check your bulbs.. and the ground wire on the front light... then last.. check your flasher.. 😀

i had this happen once. turned out enough bulbs went bad that the flash was so slow i never noticed it.

if one side flashes and the other doesnt, its usually not the flasher (unless you're running a custom dual flasher set up and why would you do this?) itself but usually a problem with that side, a bulb put in wrong (some go in one way but SOME people muscle them in the wrong way and it happens more often than you think) can cause this i think.

i would say look for bad bulbs first since its the easiest to fix, then check sockets, wires, etc. im guessing its a bulb problem.

check the flasher under the dash where al the fuses are. i've had them go bad one side would work and the other the light on the dash would stay on.
it's a little round silver two pronged fuse

i still gotta check it all out, im just gunna rant right now..
its been nothing but things going t crap sinse i bought this car, it had been sitting awhile..i think almost a year so maybe this is why? but sinse i bought it..
fan belt slipped off, turn signal issue, speedo cable died, and now tonight, the upper rad hose was minuetes away from blowing up, it was like a ballon when i noticed so i had to chaneg that out in a damn alley..did i buy a piece or what lol.

Sounds like you have an old car. Most old cars are like this which is why they make better projects or short distance commuters than cars to commute large distances in. Whenever I get an older car, I first go through everything rubber as it usually dries out and fails. Brake hoses, coolant hoses, belts, fuel lines, plug wires, etc. Plus, I also check out the wiring and bulbs, and change the fluids and filters. The fuel filter will probably get clogged soon since the rust that probably formed in the tank will get dislodged and trapped by the filter ( if you are lucky). Then, I also go through the suspension and check the bushings, ball joints and tie rods. The brakes are also on my list of potential problems as the wheel cylinders like to seize or leak if the fluid has never been changed. The trans output seal is another popular failure point for cars that have sat, as are both crank seals. Don't overlook the engine gaskets too. All these things are prone to failure on a car over 5 years old or with more than 80k miles on the clock. I regularly check these things on my 10 year old, 298k mile pickup and have serviced most of them at least once.
