well yeah just along with the fact you should not expect your car to not have problems because it is old. However sometimes it seems like cars have more problems than others do. I dunno kinda sucks that way i guess

OK so new problems are as follows

exhuast leak, were the old "y-pipe" connects to the newer exhuast line, its bolted together with a flange style and this rubber type seal is all dry/cracked and blew out on the bottom so now it runs like absolute crap and sounds really bad aswell...ugh.
and now driving home tonight the "volts" or batt light is on, but it looks very dull, not full bright like when you just start the car type thing, and it wont go off, is this a failing alternator or something? need the help, shes giving me nothing but problems

Hit Canadian Tire and get some hi- temp silicone and 4 new bolts as the old ones will break off. Unbolt it, clean the surface, apply the silicone and wait a good 1/2 hr before you bolt it back together

Check the and clean the ground cable, pins on the alt and battery connections and check for at least 13 volts when at idle.

thanks man! guna give it a shot, you might be a life saver haha

no problem. I have pulled my cat off 3 times now. The first time I just slapped the Hi Temp Copper silcone on and bolted it up and it all squished out like PB. It started an exhaust leak as soon as I started the car.

I took the cat out, cleaned the surface with a wire wheel on a grinder and let the silicone setup for 1/2 hour and it went together nice no leaks. I did the same when I put in the cat-back system and it is holding up well.

If you get less than 13 volts ( should actually be 13.5-13.7 ) then your alternator is going south. If you are getting good voltage and everything is clean then I would be looking at the battery next
