I have a odd wheel question..

I really like the Looks of the GOTTI J55A rims that were used on the Oldsmobile Cutlass FE3X Project.

However they limited their diameter size to 16", with that said and they are 3-piece Modular wheel, can those center sections be fitted/mounted to a different set of "hoops" to get the size of 17"?

I think it is 32 mounting points around the hoop centers for the 3 pieces to be bolted together.

Anyone ever done something like this before...?

Thanks...

I think your problem here would be balancing the wheel. It would be really hard in a garage setting. If you've done work like that then go ahead. But having the wheel not able to be balanced is not only bad for handling but it could be dangerous.

Also if you check out those J55's there's a ton of aluminum around the center piece to begin with. Making the wheel bigger and keeping the little center piece might look kinda stupid. or it could look cool, i dunno.

I personally wouldn't go cutting up a 2,000$ set of wheels, I think the 16's are more than enough and look cool too

I'd be willing to bet gotti would make you 17's if you paid em enough money

I realize this is an old thread. That being said Gotti did make the J55a in a 17" model. EXTREMELY HARD to find and RARE!

I know it took me 2yrs of sourcing to acquire a set of 17x9.5" and 17 x 11" rims for my 1984 Regal. Yes they do look awesome on a G-body.
