Nice, a job well done. And boy those silver gauges do look cool. I'm curious how easy it was to get at that tach wire. On my 83' it was impossible without dropping the steering column and there is a fiberglass back panel behind the gauges that block everything. That's why I wasn't sure where the white wire came out, just too cluttered back there. Oh wait, I just looked at your pics again. It hangs under the column? Or did you pull on the harness?

After dropping that pan under the dash and taking off that HVAC duct it was right there. A piece of cake to get to. It's actually easier to get to than changing the brake switch. The harness was completely undisturbed where you see it. I didn't have to play contortionist either when I spliced the wire.

I owe you a big thanks for telling me which wire it was. You saved me a headache from trying to dig through all the crap you mentioned above. There's no point in trying to find it behind the cluster. Under the dash is the only way to go. Thanks again.

You're welcome. Now I know where it is too and I didn't need to cut mine after all. DOH! :blam:
