I,m thinking 425 , dont see those much any more , as i remember they were not real high HP motors but they were TQ [ monsters ] ! And every one knows that is what you feel in the seat of your pant,s when the right foot hits the floor !

Sorry for the confusion, they are both 425s. One's pretty fresh, one being sold as a core, both "complete".

I'd jump on the one that would be the best value in the long run. But rebuilding the "cheaper" of the two would let you build it how you want it.

Now it becomes a matter of time and preference , if you enjoy the rebuild process get the core , if you would rather have more time for install and tweaking get the fresh one . IMHO

The 1500 dollar one is probably the better deal once you figure time, gas, and machining cost. I do like building stuff though, so I would probably but the cheeper one and drop like 3000 in it. I would pull the heads off the cheeper one before I bought it though.

Okay guys, a couple spare bucks burning a hole in my pocket and I'm tempted again...

Option #1 "complete engine(rebuildable core) with C heads..ac car 415.00"
8 hours away and pics he's posted in the past show them stored inside. Been listed off and on for many, many months along with a bunch of other Olds stuff.

Option #2 "I have an Olds 425 V8 that is complete, carb to pan. Engine ran when pulled. I'm going a different route which is why I'm getting rid of it. All machine work was done at Mulders machine. Bored .040", factory steel crank, ARP rod bolts, main bolts and head bolts, custom Erson hydraulic cam, MSD distributor, Demon 750 carb, Moroso oil pan, Edelbrock intake. Very low miles. $1500 View attachment 106963

Local to me. I might see if he'd sell it as a long block and keep the induction.

I haven't called either guy. Thoughts? View attachment 106965
I say go with the 425, if he can prove with receipts what has actually been done. I even like the carb in that pic, a $400 carb if 750.
