Ok so i went to the junkers and found a great shape rally gauge cluster in a cutlass calais with the floor shift, so my question is and i think its been asked before, is this a direct fit? or do i need to wire up the tach, oil press, water temp and volts? if i need to is this easy or just like my custom gauge panel were i need to wire new wires to it all, all the details please, thanks.

here it is, paid $32 , from pick n' pull, not to sure if this is cheap for these or alittle high?

I had to swap both the dash and engine bay harnesses to get mine to work properly.

One thing I would do during the conversion is be sure to clean the contacts with rubbing or de-natured alcohol, and make sure the contacts in the dash pod and cluster will contact properly.

Sometimes you'll need to pry up contacts that have scrunched down on the plastic plugs. The links show the pics, and you'll see what I mean as well.

From my experience, use a GP Sorensen or AC-Delco 60psi Oil sending unit for the gauge. These typically have a 1-year warranty. Cheaper units will "piss" hot oil all over the motor and melt belts. It happened to me about 2 months ago.

This should narrow down your "grocery list" of parts a little.

I don't know, to be honest. I wouldn't think so since they are calibrated for their own gauges, but if you have the unit there, its worth a shot.

What's the worst that could happen, it not work?? LOL
