Great 18v 6 pc makita set deal at home depot

Why is it to late?
I guess technically its not. The sign says we ask that you dont return anything in store. I got on makitas site but couldnt find the kit. The part number for the impact in the kit is xdt11z I also couldnt find a xdt11 I did find xdt111 but its not variable speed like xdt11z. Any item I click on Find Local or shop online it gives me HD,fastenal ,Grainger and more as options to buy the tool.
My question is how do I tell which is the contractor grade version and why does the website send me to Home Depot or Fastenal if HD gets the lower quality? I think ill just roll the dice on the cheap HD stuff. If it last 2 or 3 years i got my moneys worth honestly.

Because HD pays gQQgle to come up first

Well you were right. I got the kit today before work. The makita website part number is xdt11z. The home depot is xdt11. So I searched makita.com for xdt11 but it didnt come up. It definitely seems they muddy the waters on purpose. I wonder what the difference is.

I am sure it will work fine.

I just dont like how they "fool" the customer

My first cordless drill was a Makita then eventually I stepped up a notch to Dewalt. I was working on my house back then and it was a pretty good drill. Over the years the batteries started to go. I went to the local HD and spent over $100 for two new batteries. My buddy that came with me said I was an idiot for spending that much on two batteries. He just bought a 14V Ryobi set for $69 that came with a drill and trim saw. After thinking abut it I turned around, drove back to the store and bought a Ryobi 18V set instead for way under $100. It came with a drill, trim saw, two batteries and a charger in a blow mold case. Some folks might not like Ryobi but that drill held up very well. The batteries didnt hold a charge after many years of abuse and after buying two new ones I found out it was the charger. I bet that drill lasted close to 15 years. I still have the trim saw and an old blue sawzall.
Since I already had all the basic stuff Ive stuck with the Ryobi line. Drill, impact drill, LED work light which works really well and even a 1/2" impact that I use all the time. I even picked up a spotlight and a couple of different lamps for the inside the house. I have two chargers on the wall in my garage and one in the house. I just wish they would make a 3/8" 18V ratchet. That would be handy. I know they make one for the overseas market but I havent seen one here yet.
Bottom line, theyre fairly cheap and I havent broken any of them yet. LOL

Well I've had this a few yrs, abused it. Broke everything but the flashlight. So thought I should do a review. First the trigger broke on the impact about 8 months in, replaced it, then the chuck broke loose b4 christm. So it just spins freely when u let off. 2 chargers have met death for unknown reasons. The Sawzall chuck is broken. The circular saw works good still, except the guard is broke. But I rarely use it. The hammer drill was my fault. I dropped it on concrete from about 60 ft. But. All my batteries work great, hold a charge and don't die any quicker then when new(maybe a little I guess). So when Amazon had a brushless impact/charger/3.0ah battery for 99 bucks I bought it. I got a new Sawzall, hammer drill on marketplace. All in all it was a decent tool. It made it thru 3 years of everyday abuse. You can buy replacement parts too.Probably made 250k with them so i cant really complain. I was gonna buy a harbor freight impact but its just to big and bulky for my liking and not much cheaper.
On a side note. I'm pretty convinced the difference between dewalt, ryobi, makita,Milwaukee, kobalt, craftsman and whatever else they sell at the box stores is negligible.
