Welcome from SW Georgia. Great start and remember you only use brakes a little part of the time.
Love the stick shift. Just converted and a whole new dimension of driving. This is a great site with a lot of info available

welcome to the site! factory 4 spd, or has a previous owner swapped it in? as for the brakes, you're off to a good start, consider the front blazer brake upgrade as well(great bang for the buck mod). steering, go the cherokee or astrovan shaft, everyone swears by them!

and like everyone else stated:
:worthless:
If it is a swap they did a good job, the trans tunnel looks normal at front and sides to me except where the previous owner swapped out the Saginaw for a M21. He said he had to cut back for the shifter location. I got a good look it too, he cut the exhaust and changed the crossmember , so i had to notch and reweld it for the dual exhaust. When i looked at the car when the guy he got it from was selling it. The exhaust was the same and the car was a driver. But the car is 37 years old and i'm not an expert, not planning on it having any all original value when i'm done with it anyway.

That looks like the car Roy Schieder drove in the movie "The Seven Ups". If you don't know the movie, the bad guy was driving a Bonneville and being chased through NYC by the Ventura. The bad guy driving the Bonneville was the same guy who drove the 68 Charger in "Bullitt", Bill Hickman.
I googled it, thats cool. That was a great driving old Ventura! I loved driving it, but it was rusty on the inside. Whomever has it now has it listed on craigslist.
