Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I'll post some pics as I work on it. Once i get my brakes fixed, I'm hoping to drive it at least 3 days a week to work. I will put time and money in it, as I sell my other cars that I wheel and deal on. I plan on keeping this one. The old 301 runs like a scalded turtle, but is smooth and quiet, it has the 4 bbl. I have a disassembled 400 poncho I plan to rebuild. The interior I am piecing together, gonna try my hand at making some custom pieces, as some pieces are hard to find or expensive. The body is in tinted polyester primer, I wanted to get it all in one color. It was the maroon color on top and gold on bottom in it's younger days. I am going to paint it either Arrival Blue or Liberty Blue (I'm leaning toward Arrival Blue)The top was a landau, somenody pulled off and slathered some bondo over the seams. The passenger side only had bondo all the way down, i saw two little spots of bronze size of a pea. I haven't dug in the driverside yet.The roof and B pillar are different from the Malibu's I have seen pics of people converting over, don't know if it is the year or model. This one has a crimped roof panel (im guessing for the trim) a narrow B pillar and large quarter window(the interior plastic just sealed to the glass to cover it up on the inside) and the drip rail was notched and strait down.My buddy is a good body man and I'm fair at it, so should be ok.I will have to come up with some trim ideas for fit and finish, but gonna try to get it close to how the malibu's look. I don't see many Grand Am's to inspect. I will be asking many questions, hopefully I can answer some too.
