I have a question about putting GTA wheels on my 1987 Olds.
I was told from several people that I would need to get all 4 front
rims to make it work, I have 1 set and I just want to be sure
before I go out and get an additional set.
What would I need to do to make it work.

I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks

I run '87 Formula wheels on my car, which I believe are the same size and backspacing as the GTA wheels. I made mine work by running them backwards (fronts in rear and rears in front), with a small parts store spacer (1/4"-3/8") up front. The added benefit is the lip is now bigger on the back as it should be, in the normal configuration the fronts look deeper.

The GTA wheels had a different backspacing front to back. The fronts had less of a back spacing to make room for the brakes which was noticeable on the lip of the wheel being larger on the front wheel. The only reason to get 4 of the front wheels is to make them all look identical. There is no issue fitting the rear GTA wheels which have more of a back spacing on a g body.

Thanks for your responses I have a set just missing one rear.
That is the main reason for my question, so I know if I should
just get the missing rim, or get another set of front rims.

I have a set on my 86 and I have GTA Fronts on the rear with a 1/4" spacer and Rears on the front with a 1" adapter. You dont need the spacer on the rear but I didnt care for how for in they set and I will be adding disc brakes to the rear eventually which will do about the same thing as the spacer. A friend of mine had a 1/2" spacer using the rears on the front of his Monte and would get some rubbing during a hard turn in a parking lot and a number of guys on the GN boards mentioned using adapters to push the wheels out more. I am going to do a 98+ style Fbody brake conversion all around on the car when time permits so what is there now is temporary but allowed me to use what I have. A set of 4 fronts will even things out and give you the same offset/lip look also. I refinished my wheels in black with a heavy clear on them and they already had polished lips and gave the car a big difference in look. I should post up a pic when I get a chance but I had Reflective Concepts make me some custom center cap overlays which are black background with a brushed aluminum Oldsmobile logo in the center. They are called Reflec-Dome overlays as they are thick like the factory look, not just a thin decal.
