unfortunately, soon as you're into 17" wheels, you're automatically into 5"+ BS, atleast for production cars. Corvettes already used big BS, and even Camaro's were around 5.5" to 6" BS when they went to 17" rims.
But I do know, for a fact, that C4 Covettes had wheels with small or big BS depending on what model Vette you ordered. For example, the C4 ZR1s used wheels with as much as 58mm offset, and as little as 36mm offset. I think that works out to 7" to 5.5" BS.
... I think either way you look at it, this won't fit under a small budget. For a set of adaptors, you could fund a frame notch job. And this way, you won't need to worry about running big adaptors and breaking studs and hubs.
This being said, I'm always running into adds for used 17" rims, like American Racing, Torq Thrusts, etc... You might be able to snag some that were used on an old Hotrod with small BS.
