Curious what my new set up will do, what are your thoughts?

last set up: 83 malibu 4 door stock body, wheels and suspension. 383 cu.in 9.5:1, 624 76cc iron smog heads, 286h comp cams q-jet, 300$ 10" 3000 stall 4.11 gear 26" slick.
12.50 @ 106mph 60ft: 1.69


new set up curious about / almost ready:

81 malibu coupe, 355cu.in fresh. 9.5:1 brand new 750 D.P holley full mechanical, mech. flat tappet cam 106lobe, 500lift 246@50.
8" custom 4200stall 4.56 gears 28" slick, weld draglites all around car, gutted, electric water and fan, battery in trunk.

point of this thread..

picked up some 215runner dart iron eagle platinum heads. i know they are big but i got them for nothing and will be using them.
guys at JEGS claim they are a little big but will still go well.

My thoughts for what it's worth. On a 355 the 2.05 valves will be some what shrouded, you know they are big but a 4200 stall is going to help. Is the new cam 106 lobe center or separation? - I'm thinking lobe center. If that's the case the cam only good for about 6500 and with the 4.56 w/ 28s and TC slip your going to be pushing that, I'd leave the 4.11 in. That being said thinking high 11's. If interested I'll tell you about my combo.

Its strait up 106 both intake and exhaust.
It's a solid 2800-6200range 501lift 242@50. Id like to shift around 6400 and maybe trap 6400+

My brother ran high 12s with this cam with 20year old street tires, a bad stock 327 leaking everything you can imagine, no stall & 4.56. And trunk full of tools and garbage.

My stall was a custom 1300$ 8" 3stall, guy claims rpm would not trap high like 6700+/- because my slip will be extremely low, unlike my 10" 300$ 3000.
