H pipe

That doesn't look bad. He could've put some paint on it though.

I did my system about 6 years ago. I bought a header back true dual 3" kit from Torque Tech it ran about $350 I think, then I bought 2 Flowmaster Delta Flow 50's and 2 4" Stainless tips. It took me about half a day to install it all since it was just up on jack stands. Of course back then my Flowmasters cost $75 a piece, now they're around $95 a piece. All together it was around $550 and what ever I burned up in gas, wire, and electricity. One things for sure, I'm glad I went 50 series on the Flowmasters, because 600 hp through dual 3" even with 50's is still fairly loud.

An "H" pipe is old tech as I found this out AFTER I had one put in my duel setup. I saw an article in a hot rod magazine where they tested the "H" pipe vs. the "X" pipe for flow and horsepower output and cross flow, and the "X" pipe was better. Just my 2 cents.

Took it to a shop today, Guy said he'd do it for 350 w/ tailpipes coming out the side behind the axle. I'd have to provide my own mufflers though. Does That seem fair?

Thats why I went with Walker Dynomax mufflers. People who know nothing think it's a bit loud, but people whoknow what 500+ hp sounds like know it's quiet.

If they really complain, I uncork the dump tubes...

I think I paid $480US + shipping for a complete dual 3" 'Header to tailpipe' system with crossover (H-pipe) back in 1998. I built my own crossmember, as I have a TH400.
