He did a horrible job on it, but he made it work. I will be replacing it with an aftermarket piece at some point.

Dang that sucks have any pictures of the work...i need to knotch my x-member at idle i can hear/fell it tapping

MrLightning, could you pm me the address or number of the Guy? And it sure would be nice to see some pics of exhaust set ups! 😀 From what everybody is saying it seems that $350 is reasonable. Ritter, did you have an h pipe kit or did he fabricate one up? Sorry to hear he didn't do that great of a job.

He did a good durable notch job but it just looks unfinished. He just cut like a 4" section out and welded in a 4"x4" piece of 1/4 c-channel but didn't grind it down flush with the crossmember or coat it with anything. So it rusted over fairly quick. I will take a picture of it tonight.

He fabricated the X-pipe for me.
The job consisted of 3" - 2 1/2" reducer from the headers. Fabricated and installed the X-pipe and welded 2 1/2" in/out THRUSH mufflers and turndowns directly from the mufflers.

You can get a complete header back X-pipe system from Pypes in stainless for about $400 and it's arguably better than an H-pipe. As long as you have a good place to do it, install isn't any harder than what you would think it would be.

x2 I've installed two of these kits now and just swapped the Pro series mufflers for the Violators. Definately the best buy. Install time was maybe 2 or 3 hours with basic hand tools
