Well, I'm getting the feeling I'm closing in on an era. I've been hitting the yards since I was 16. (56 now) I've owned almost 40 vehicles in my life and fixed most of them up with parts from the yards. 60's and 70's GM
muscle cars were the norm.
When those starting drying up, I made the easy transition to GBodys. It's been a lot of fun and I have learned so much. I find satisfaction in helping fellow car guys by sharing knowledge, or supplying parts for
other people's projects. I've infected co-workers and neighbors with my " sickness" .
I still hit 3 or 4 yards every weekend and I must say. These cars are getting fewer and far between. Most of the yards I go to say I'm more dependable than their help. If I don't show up one weekend, they think I either died or went on vacation. Sometimes I can go 2 or 3 weeks without finding a GBody. Then, all of a sudden 3 of them.
So I'm thinking I may have to find something to do with my time...another GBody...hmmmm
I have a 65 Malibu SS car and an 81 Malibu. Both cars have been thoroughly gone through and am happy with their condition and drivability . I've been following c/l for years just to keep up with prices and decided the 2 doors are too much. A wagon would be the next choice but they are at a premium also. So a 4 door...
Never thought I would but I did. Wow! Even the 4 doors are getting 2500.00 to 3500.00 for a car that is nice and not rusted out. Well, I got an 82 Bonneville for about half of that. The body and interior are in good shape with no rust issues. The 3.8 Buick engine has seen better days but stills runs good enough to putt around, for now. Not sure of the particulars yet, but a street sleeper is on the horizon. Nothing crazy , just a warmed over v8 and 700r trains with a posi rear end. Here are a couple pics. Timo22

Looks nice, I think if I had it I would put a 400 or larger Pontiac engine in there and through in a GP center console with matching bucket seats.
I also like that it is a no vinyl car so no surprises lurking.

I don't think I would have bought it if it would have had a vinyl top. I think it looks a lot better as a hardtop.
Gotta say...it's already growing on me. I was thinking of keeping it all poncho. Since it still runs good enough ,
I've got time on my side. I'll keep my eyes open and see what I run across...we'll see..
One thing I thought was cool is the nameplates on the decklid..Bonneville. Model G. Haven't really seen that before. I did some research and Pontiac wanted you to know the Bonneville was downsized to a gbody in 82 .
They put them on sporadically. Thanks for your suggestions...timo22

Looking forward to the build thread! Congratulations on the new wheels!

350 Buick, easiest swap. Gobs of torque, lightest small block in the GM line that's all cast iron. Not the most cost effective, but a direct swap regardless.

as I first started reading, I was thinking "wow, we're losing another..." glad to see I thought wrong!

nice score, looking forward as well to seeing a build thread in the future!

LMAO! I thought the exact same!
Nice find, looks pretty clean.
I know about the few and far between thing-used to be you'd see G's everywhere, now the only ones I see are the ones that people like us are driving and keeping up. None in yards around me, all scrapped, every place just holds stuff 15 years or younger it seems.
