Hammer question

I have a bunch too. I’m always on the lookout for more too. I have a nice all wooden mallet I picked up a few years ago.

funny, it seems my Estwing 18 oz framing hammer I bought for what seemed like huge money long ago has not left my side since 1990. Works great for framing, bodywork, tearing apart crates, prying stuff apart, knocking out tie rods and ball joints even, but it also did most of the baseboards in my house for finish work as well. It just "feels" right. I can never forget the first week I bought it as a kid from Ontario with not much money we were framing a School in Okotoks Alberta. I had blisters, then other blisters, then blood by the end of the week from knocking nails. Couldn't bear to wear gloves as they were referred to as "b*tch Mittens" by the crew I was trying to impress. Obviously this was before compressors or nailers were commonplace on site.

It's seen it's use. The face is really worn now but on a jobsite when I ask the "ground muppet" for a hammer they know that is the one I want. Even though there are at least 6 others in the truck or 10 others in the shop box. Kid will go to the truck to grab that Estwing for me when I ask for a hammer. And when I am done they make sure 1000% that they know where it is when I ask for it. They will forget \ lose cordless tools, or even the truck keys LOL but always know where my hammer is.
