This is why HF and their kind suck. When you bought an American made hammer an American company made it and American workers made money. If you buy an imported hammer for pennies on the dollar a foreign company made it and a foreign worker makes money. You figure if it breaks you just get another cheaply and if you really need a good hammer you will just get the American made one. That is OK until the American company shuts down and you are left with only the imported junk. Now since the import is the only hammer left the importer raises the price of it until it is what the well made American hammer used to cost. Then the importer pockets the difference and you are paying full price for junk. I don't blame the foreign company- I blame the scumbag American importer. An American company is closed and the importer caused that. He doesn't care. All he cares about is the money he is raking in. THAT is treason.

I have bought 3 items from HF and don't plan to go back.

1. Bought a ultrasonic cleaner, the lid fit like crap, everything evaporated out and i used a bit of cleaner in it and it dissolved the epoxy they used to seal the wash chamber to the outside. Junk!
2. Bought a bearing puller set to pull a bearing off a diff, none of the jaws worked, it was super flimsy and just sits in my tool box, ive never used it because it's never had the right parts to work. Junk!
3. Bought a fuel pressure tester. It GUSHED fuel out at the turn of the fuel pump, turns out it had a Oring face hose going into a female flare fitting. Junk! Returned.

Used a friends 1/2 HF torque wrench to take a wheel off in a parking lot when i had limited tools. I didn't want to use my 3/8 flex head ratchet since thats all I had. It sheared the drive lug right off on the first one. I ended up finishing with my 3/8.

I'd rather hit up ebay and flea markets for 50-80's used tools. $5 IR impacts, Thorsen and Proto hand tools. If I do buy new electric stuff I usually go Dewalt because thats about the only brand loyalty I have for anything new, and thats based off what I already own.

I will admit, the HF tool boxes are nice, but I can't bring myself to buy one.

That is partially true. People are cheapazz idiots that don't care about what happens to their neighbors. "If I can save a buck TS on them". But who placed the bait in front of them? American business. China did not steal anything. We GAVE it away. Remember when you were a kid? Made in Japan was a joke. Then what happened? Cars, toys, electronics, everything went there. And when they got expensive China was next. Someone else will follow, Korea, maybe Africa. I wonder what will happen when they run out of cheapshit labor? Maybe by then WE will be cheapshit labor.

And anyone who steps foot in a Walmart for any reason is guilty of exactly the same thing, once removed.

Anybody running a Scat crank? Procomp anything? A generic engine rebuild kit? New wheels that aren’t billet? What brand are your tires?

Unions are what made this country great, yet also what caused this situation. When people expect to be paid $30/hr for screwing off and maybe driving a fork lift a few times, this is what happens. That is NOT to say all union employees do that at all. But labor costs are what pushed production overseas. Nothing else
