You have to notch the engine crossmember to keep the compressor low. Not a big deal if you can weld but I prefer it up high. Hose routing is better in my opinion with the compressor up high.
Did you use a kit for the accessory drive or did you piece meal it together? I see a mid mount kit on JEGS that comes with everything but it all attaches to the water pump housing.
On my brother's car we bought the Corvette accessory drive kit, minus A/C, new. Then we bought the Holley A/C compressor bracket, the belt, the compressor and another idler pulley separately.
