I was just cruising a classified website under classic cars and found an ad for a 1980 Cutlass Supreme with a listed as "rare gold Landau roof option"

add says he is original owner, bought it new.

Kevin,
It looks like gold metalflake. I somehow don't think that's a factory option...but you never know...unless it's a dealer prepared option.

I'm skeptical as well Jack...thing is he said he bought it new? I thought I'd throw it out for the Olds experts here....

I would agree that if he bought it new then it was probably a dealer add on that they tried and never caught on

Looks like cork mat.
Maybe he has the original thumbtacks in the glove box and you used it to put your grocery list on there so you wouldn't forget it.

LMAO. It's gold grip tape so when leaving the grocery store, your purse or coffee cup will still be there when you get home.

I think the grip tape is a good idea, I once stopped, jumped out of my truck and ran up to the car in front of me and then handed the guy his I phone from the roof of his car and the look on his face was PRICELESS!.

more than likely a dealer package... alot of dealerships back in the 70's and 80's were known for "special packages"... If it was a factory option (and remember, cocaine was the drug of choice back then), it may have been a low # option, kinda like the "mod-top" on the old chryslers...

lel looks to me like someone just grabbed a can of "candy gold" and went to town.
