thinking about getting one for my Monte SS. has anyone put one on a G-Body? they seem cool and sound cool also...please let me know what you think of them!

go electric, very ez setups out there, my 84 monte has the flex-lite duel electric fans when i had my 305 and i noticed a more snappy throttle responce.

if i had to do it again, i would get the singel fan and keep my original fan shroud

junk
they flatten out while your cruisin and prevent the air from flowing through

they also fly apart

Have seen the damage it does when they do, a guy at work has a nice sized hole in his Malibu's hood when it flew apart..

alright, so is there any good electric fan kits for our cars then?

you can put together a nice junkyard setup for a fraction with what they cost new.. Dual fan intrepid unit's fit good with very little trimming and a Cutlass radiator hold down..." which i have some for sale" they are dual speed and work nice. There is a slew of fans to use along with your choice of controllers..

you only need a shroud for the signel fan as the shroud acts as a wind funnel to prevent your radiator from getting hot spots, the duel set up (like i have) doesn't allow a shoud to fit and it covers 95% of the radiator and the shroud on our cars help hold the radiator so you would have to get creative and make a bracket or find some way to hold the radiator

Personally, unless you're trying to milk ever single once of power from your car I think electric fans are more trouble than they're worth. It's hard to beat a stock style 7 blade fan with a HD clutch set-up. I tend to look at things from a cost vs benefit perspective though. You can get a boneyard fan for $10 and a new severe duty clutch for about $60, bolt it on and be done with it.

I'm with everyone else though on the flex fans....junk. Removing the fan clutch for a spacer adds a lot of drag to an engine too.
