my 6x9's were 135 from crutchfield for the pair, and i got a pioneer headunit that has all the capabilities you are talking about for 120 I had all the wiring for it so that was not a cost to me, sounds like your budget may be tight though.

well my stereo plans are to get a kenwood cd player that is set up for three amps, (front, back, sub) xm radio, and ipod conection with a remote control (dont know why you need one, but its cool i guess...) for 160 with faceplate, wireing harness, and adapter, 2 kenwood 6x9's(50$ new), and 2 kenwood 6.5's(60$ new) and a kenwood 500x4 amp from a freind for 50 bucks. and later down the road get a mono 1000watt amp and either 2 10's or a single 12.
im thinking i can sell my atv wheels seperatly and my olds rallye wheels to raise a few more dollars, maybe some other stuff too. idk yet....

That'll work. Make sure you do some ebay shopping first. You can get some really good deals on car audio there. As far as kick panels they are basically speaker pods made to replace your kick panels so you can put speakers there. Unfortunately on these cars you have to do a little modifying to get your ebrake to work properly with them installed, but they look nice and clean and give you a place to put your speakers. You can sometimes find them on ebay as well for G Bodys.
